Terms of Use

Last Updated: 19 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of the DateMate Social website, apps and related services ("DateMate Social", "we", "us"), operated by Wild Cats Media. By creating an account or using DateMate Social you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use DateMate Social.

1. What DateMate Social is

DateMate Social helps adults meet new people, to date (Date mode) or to make friends (BFF mode). Members see people one at a time in Discover, and like or pass. When two members like each other it is a match, and they can chat and call. DateMate Social is for personal, non-commercial use only.

2. Who may join

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms.
  • You must create your profile yourself; you may not create or run a profile for someone else.
  • One person may have only one account.
  • You must not have been convicted of, or be required to register for, a sexual offence, and you must not have been removed from DateMate Social before.

3. Your account and profile

  • Everything you share, including your name, age, photos and what you are looking for, must be true, current and your own.
  • Keep your password and sign-in codes secret. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • Our team reviews new profiles and photos, and may refuse or remove them.
  • Photo verification: if you ask for the "Photo verified" badge, you take a live selfie copying a pose we choose, and our team compares it with your profile photos. The badge means only that this check was passed; it is not a background check.

4. Community rules: what you must not do

  • Create a fake, misleading or duplicate profile, or pretend to be anyone else.
  • Ask any member for money, gifts, loans, investments, bank, UPI or OTP details, for any reason.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, stalk or abuse anyone, or post hateful, discriminatory, obscene or violent content.
  • Send sexual content to anyone who has not clearly agreed to receive it, or share anyone's intimate images.
  • Offer or ask for paid sexual services or escort services, or use DateMate Social for business, advertising or promotion.
  • Use DateMate Social for "sugar dating" or any compensated arrangement: dates, company or intimacy offered or asked for in exchange for money, gifts, rent, travel or other benefits.
  • Share another member's photos, contact details or messages outside DateMate Social without their consent.
  • Copy, scrape or collect member data, use bots, or interfere with the security or operation of DateMate Social.

5. Photos and content

You keep ownership of what you upload, and you allow us to show it on DateMate Social according to your settings and these Terms. You must have the right to upload every photo, and you must not upload photos of other people, or of anyone under 18, without permission. We may remove any content that breaks these Terms or the law.

5a. Content the law does not allow

Under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you must not post, upload, share or send anything that:

  • belongs to someone else and you have no right to share;
  • is obscene or pornographic, sexualises a child, invades someone's privacy (including their bodily privacy), or insults or harasses anyone because of their gender;
  • is racially or ethnically offensive, encourages money laundering or gambling, or promotes hatred or violence between groups because of religion or caste;
  • is harmful to children;
  • infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other right;
  • misleads people about where a message comes from, or knowingly spreads false or misleading information;
  • impersonates another person, including with edited or AI-made images;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its relations with other countries or public order, incites a crime, or obstructs an investigation;
  • contains a virus or any code meant to damage or interfere with a computer or network;
  • breaks any other law in force.

We remove such content, may suspend or ban the account, and report it to the authorities where the law requires. Breaking these rules can also lead to penalties under the law.

6. Location

If you choose to share your location, we keep it rounded to about one kilometre and use it only to show your approximate distance. We never show where you are. You can remove it at any time.

7. Matches, unmatching and blocking

You can pass, unmatch, block or report anyone at any time. After an unmatch or a block you will not see each other on DateMate Social again. Messages that contain phone numbers, links or payment words may show a safety reminder; please read our Safety Tips before meeting anyone, and always meet in a public place. We do not run criminal background checks.

8. Price

DateMate Social is free: there are no paid plans at the moment. If we introduce paid extras, we will show what they include and their price before you pay, and update these Terms first.

9. No guarantee

We do not guarantee that you will get likes, matches or replies, or that any member's information is accurate.

10. Suspension and removal

We may suspend, ban or delete an account if we reasonably believe it breaks these Terms or the law, or puts other members at risk. To keep removed people from coming back, we keep an encrypted fingerprint of a banned account's email address and phone number (never the address or number itself). You may delete your account at any time from your settings.

11. Limitation of liability

DateMate Social is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the conduct of any member, on or off DateMate Social, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the six months before the claim.

12. Reports and grievances

You can report or block a member from their profile or your chat; every report gets a reference number. You can also write to our Grievance Officer, as described on our Grievance Redressal page. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours. Intimate images and impersonation reported by the person shown (or someone for them) are removed within 2 hours; other unlawful content is acted on within 36 hours; every other complaint is resolved within 7 days, as the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as amended, require.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Faridabad, Haryana have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the app. Using DateMate Social after a change means you accept it.
