Wild Cats Media runs DateMate Social. This is the short version of our Privacy Policy: what we keep about you, why, and how to change your mind. We do not sell your data, and people who are not signed in never see your profile.
What we keep and why
- Your account (first name, date of birth, gender, email or mobile number, password stored encrypted): to sign you in, check you are 18 or over, and contact you about your account.
- Your profile (photos, bio, who you want to meet, what you are looking for, interests, prompts and the other details you choose to add): to show you to members you want to meet and who want to meet someone like you.
- Your location, only if you share it, rounded to about one kilometre: to show approximate distances. Your exact location is never shown.
- Your likes, matches, messages and calls: to let you match and talk. Only your matches can message or call you.
- A verification selfie, only if you ask for the badge: our team compares it with your photos by eye, then deletes it.
- Blocks and reports: to keep members safe. When you report someone, a copy of your conversation with them is kept with the report.
- Technical data (IP address, device and browser): to keep the site secure and working, and to count where signing up is hard (without your name, contact details or answers).
Sensitive details need a separate yes
Your gender detail, sexual orientation, a verification selfie and your location are stored only if you agree to each one separately. Religion and politics are always optional. You can withdraw any of these consents at any time in Privacy and consents on your Profile, as easily as you gave it, and we then delete what it covered.
Your rights
- See a summary of your data, or download a copy from the "Delete account" page in your settings.
- Correct or update it in your profile.
- Delete your account: your profile disappears at once, your photos are deleted straight away, and everything else is erased within 30 days (except what the Privacy Policy says we must keep).
- Nominate someone to use these rights if you die or cannot do it yourself, in Privacy and consents.
- Complain to our Grievance Officer, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.
