Frequently Asked Questions

Is DateMate Social free?

Yes. Creating a profile, swiping, liking, matching and chatting with your matches are free. Premium plans add extras such as more Super Likes and seeing who viewed your profile.

How do matches work?

Like someone in Discover or on their profile. If they like you back, it's a match and a chat opens for both of you. Nobody can message you unless you've matched.

What is a Super Like?

A Super Like tells someone you really like them: you appear first in their Discover with a "Super liked you" badge. Everyone gets one a day; paid plans get more.

I passed on someone by mistake. Can I undo it?

Yes. Tap Rewind in Discover to bring back the last person you passed on.

Will people know if I pass on them?

No. They are never told. If you pass on someone who liked you, neither of you is shown to the other again.

Can people see where I live?

No. If you share your location it is rounded and used only to show a distance such as "5 km away". You can remove it any time from Discover settings.

How are profiles checked?

New profiles and photos are reviewed by our team, and members can verify their ID to get a verified tick. In Discover settings you can choose to see verified people only.

Can I take a break?

Yes. Snooze hides you from Discover for 24 hours, 3 days or a week. Your matches and chats stay. You can also deactivate or delete your account from your settings.

Who can see my profile?

Only members who want to meet someone like you, within the age range and distance they've chosen, and whom you'd want to meet too.

Someone is making me uncomfortable. What do I do?

Block or report them from their profile or your chat. Reports are confidential and reviewed by our team. Read our Safety Tips for more.

How old do I need to be?

You must be at least 18 to join DateMate Social.
