Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. DateMate Social uses as few as it can.
Cookies we always use (needed for the site to work)
- Session cookie (datemate_social_session): keeps you signed in while you use the site.
- XSRF-TOKEN: protects your forms and messages from being sent by another website.
- Remember me (remember_web_…): only if you tick "Remember me", keeps you signed in on that device.
- acceptCookies: remembers your answer in the cookie banner ("Accept" or "Only necessary"), so the banner does not come back.
- vl_ref: only when you open a member's invite link; remembers the invite code for 30 days so the invitation is credited if you sign up.
Cookies used only after you accept
If we switch on analytics (Google Analytics) or advertising measurement (Meta Pixel), they load only after you choose "Accept" in the banner; with "Only necessary" they never load. They help us understand how the site is used and whether our ads work. We never use them to show your profile to anyone.
Browser storage
We also keep a few settings in your browser, such as whether you have seen the swipe tips. They stay on your device.
Your choices
You can change your answer at any time: Change your cookie choice (the banner comes back).
You can also delete cookies or block them in your browser settings. If you block the cookies we always use, you will not be able to sign in.
